Which apps are included in Office 2019 Professional Plus?

Office 2019 Professional Plus includes seven desktop apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access and Publisher. It's the most complete Office 2019 edition for Windows. Microsoft has announced that Publisher will no longer be supported after October 2026, so plan ahead if you rely on it.

AppWhat you use it for
WordDocuments, letters, reports and CVs
ExcelSpreadsheets, budgets, formulas and charts
PowerPointPresentations and slide decks
OutlookEmail, calendar and contacts
OneNoteNotes, notebooks and to-do lists
AccessDesktop databases (only in Professional Plus, not Standard)
PublisherFlyers, newsletters and print layouts

What's the difference between Office 2019 Standard and Professional Plus?

The only app difference is Access: Professional Plus includes it and Standard doesn't. If you build or use Access databases, or simply want the full set, Professional Plus is the edition to choose. Both Office 2019 editions include Publisher.

A question we often get is whether Standard can open Access files. It can't: .accdb databases need Access, which only Professional Plus includes.

How does the 5-50 PC volume licence work?

This volume option lets you license between 5 and 50 computers in one order. You choose the number of PCs when you order, and the email you receive after payment contains your licence key and step-by-step instructions for that number of computers.

Every covered PC runs the same edition, Office 2019 Professional Plus, which keeps setup and support consistent across an office. Volume editions can be activated inside an Office app or from the command line, which saves time when IT staff set up many PCs.

Is Office 2019 still supported by Microsoft?

No. Office 2019 reached end of support on 14 October 2025. Since then, Microsoft no longer releases security updates or bug fixes for it. The apps keep working, but if you need a supported version, choose Office 2024, which is supported until 9 October 2029.

Office 2019 still suits buyers who need to match an existing setup, for example an office where every PC runs the same version. For a new installation, Office 2024 gives you the longest remaining support period.

What are the system requirements for Office 2019 Professional Plus?

You need a Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC with a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM (2 GB for 32-bit Office) and about 4 GB of free disk space. Office 2019 Professional Plus doesn't run on macOS.

How do I install and activate Office 2019 Professional Plus?

On each computer, install Office from the link in your order email and activate it with your licence key. For a few PCs, enter the key in Word; for many, IT staff can activate from the command line.

  1. On each PC, uninstall older Office or Microsoft 365 versions from Settings → Apps.
  2. Install Office 2019 Professional Plus using the download link in your order email.
  3. Open Word and enter the key when asked, or go to File → Account → Change Product Key.
  4. To activate from the command line instead, open Command Prompt as administrator and run cscript "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs" /inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX, then the same command with /act (use "Program Files (x86)" for 32-bit Office).
  5. Confirm activation with ospp.vbs /dstatus or under File → Account.

The most common problem we see is a different Office edition already on the PC, such as a preinstalled Microsoft 365 or Home & Business copy. Your key only activates Office 2019 Professional Plus, so remove other editions and install the one from your order email.

Frequently asked questions

How many PCs does this licence cover?

It covers the number of PCs you choose when you order, anywhere from 5 to 50. Each of those computers can run Office 2019 Professional Plus. If you later need Office on more PCs than you licensed, you need an additional licence for the extra computers.

Do all the PCs have to run the same edition?

Yes. Your key activates Office 2019 Professional Plus only, so every computer covered by the licence needs that same edition installed. A Standard key won't activate Professional Plus, and a Professional Plus key won't activate Standard.

Does Office 2019 include Publisher?

Yes. Both the Standard and Professional Plus editions of Office 2019 include Publisher for Windows. Microsoft has announced that Publisher will no longer be supported after October 2026, so it's worth planning a replacement if you use it a lot.

Is Office 2019 Professional Plus a one-time purchase?

Yes. It's a one-time purchase with no subscription, and the apps keep working. However, Office 2019 reached end of support on 14 October 2025, so it no longer receives security updates from Microsoft. Choose it mainly when you need to match an existing setup.
