The Visio & Project 2024 Professional bundle combines Microsoft's diagramming app and its project-management app for Windows, with a separate key for each. What's included in the Visio and Project 2024 bundle?
You get two separate licences, each with its own 25-character product key: one for Visio Professional 2024 and one for Project Professional 2024. Each key activates its own app on one Windows PC.

Do I need Office to use Visio and Project?
No. Visio and Project are standalone desktop apps with their own keys, so they work on a PC without Office. If Office is installed, they must use the same 32-bit or 64-bit version as Office.
They still fit into an Office workflow: Visio diagrams can be pasted into Word or PowerPoint, and Project can export task lists to Excel.
What do Visio Professional and Project Professional add over the Standard editions?
The Professional editions add the advanced diagram types, data links and team features that Standard leaves out. Both apps in this bundle are Professional, so you get the full set.

In our experience, data linking is what most often decides it for Visio: an org chart or network map that updates from Excel saves a lot of manual edits.
How long are Visio and Project 2024 supported?
Microsoft supports Visio and Project 2024 until 9 October 2029. They receive security updates during that time but no new features; only the subscription versions of Visio and Project get regular feature updates. See the Visio 2024 lifecycle page.
What are the system requirements for this bundle?
Visio and Project share the same requirements: a Windows PC with a 1.1 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and about 4 GB of disk space per app. Both must use the same 32-bit or 64-bit version as any Office already installed.

How do I install and activate Visio and Project?
Install Visio first, then Project, and enter each key in its own app. If Office is already on the PC, choose the same 32-bit or 64-bit version as Office.
- Remove older Visio or Project versions and any trial versions under Settings → Apps.
- Install Visio Professional 2024, open it and enter the Visio key.
- Install Project Professional 2024, open it and enter the Project key.
- In each app, check that File → Account shows "Product Activated".
The error we see most often is mixing 32-bit and 64-bit: Microsoft doesn't allow 32-bit Visio or Project next to 64-bit Office, so setup stops. Pick one (64-bit suits most PCs) and use it for every app; Microsoft explains the rules in its guide to installing Office, Visio and Project on the same PC.
Frequently asked questions
Will Visio and Project 2024 get new features?
No. Like Office 2024, they are fixed releases: Microsoft provides security updates until October 2029, but new features go only to the subscription versions. Many teams prefer this, because the apps look and behave the same throughout their support period.
Can I install Visio and Project on different PCs?
Yes. Each key is a separate licence for one PC, so you can put Project on a project manager's laptop and Visio on a designer's desktop, for example. Each key still activates only one computer, so plan which PC gets which app.
Is there a Mac version of Visio or Project?
No. Visio and Project desktop apps are made for Windows only, and the keys in this bundle are for Windows installations. Mac users would need a separate Mac edition of Office, and there's no Mac edition of Visio or Project at all.
Can Project Professional connect to Project Server?
Yes. Project Professional can connect to an on-premises Project Server, which Project Standard can't. It also works on its own, saving plans as .mpp files, so you don't need a server to get started.
