Office 2019 Standard for Mac is a one-time-purchase version of Microsoft Office for macOS. It includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, built for the Mac. You pay once, with no Microsoft 365 subscription. This key activates one Mac, and you get it by email after payment with a download link and activation instructions. Please read the support note below before you buy, because Microsoft no longer supports this version.

Which apps are included in Office 2019 Standard for Mac?
Office 2019 Standard for Mac includes five apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, built natively for macOS. Access and Publisher are Windows-only apps, so no Mac edition of Office includes them. Teams is a separate free download.

How is Office 2019 for Mac different from the Windows editions?
The Mac edition has the same core apps as Office 2019 Standard for Windows: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. Access is only available in Professional Plus for Windows. Publisher, which the Windows editions of Office 2019 include, isn't available on Mac.

Is Office 2019 for Mac still supported?
No. Support for Office 2019 for Mac ended on 10 October 2023, and its final build is version 16.78. Microsoft also states that from 13 July 2026, Office 2019 for Mac runs in reduced functionality mode: you can open, view and print documents, but you can't edit, save or create new ones, and Office 2019 for Mac can't be updated to avoid this.

What are the system requirements for Office 2019 Standard for Mac?
Microsoft no longer publishes macOS requirements for Office 2019 for Mac, because the product is out of support. The hardware needs below are a general guide only.

How do I install and activate Office 2019 Standard for Mac?
Download the Mac installer from the link in your order email, install it like any other Mac app, then activate Office with the key and steps in the email.
- If this Mac has had another Office version or a Microsoft 365 trial, remove its licence first with Microsoft's License Removal Tool.
- Download the Office 2019 Standard for Mac installer using the link in your order email.
- Open the downloaded .pkg file and follow the installer.
- Open Word and activate Office using the key and steps from your email.
- Check that Office opens without an activation prompt. Remember that editing and saving are limited from 13 July 2026, as explained above.
The most common problem we see on Macs is a leftover licence from an earlier Office version or a Microsoft 365 trial, which makes Office keep asking you to sign in or subscribe. Remove old licences with the License Removal Tool, then activate again.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still edit documents with Office 2019 for Mac?
According to Microsoft, from 13 July 2026 Office 2019 for Mac runs in reduced functionality mode: documents open for viewing and printing, but editing and saving are turned off, and no update for Office 2019 changes this. For full editing on a Mac, choose Office 2024 for Mac.
Can I use this key on a Windows PC?
No. This key is for Office 2019 Standard for Mac and works only with the Mac version. For a Windows PC you need a Windows edition such as Office Standard or Professional Plus, which uses a different product key.
Does the Mac edition include Access or Publisher?
No. Access and Publisher are Windows-only apps, so they aren't part of any Mac edition of Office. Office 2019 Standard for Mac includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, which cover documents, spreadsheets, presentations, email and notes.
Is Office 2019 Standard for Mac a one-time purchase?
Yes, it was sold as a one-time purchase with no subscription. However, Microsoft ended support for Office 2019 for Mac on 10 October 2023, and from 13 July 2026 it can only view and print documents. Office 2024 for Mac is the supported one-time-purchase alternative.
