Which apps are included in Office 2019 Standard?
Office 2019 Standard includes six desktop apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Publisher. Access isn't included; it is only in Professional Plus. Microsoft has announced that Publisher will no longer be supported after October 2026, so plan ahead if you rely on it.
| App | What you use it for |
|---|---|
| Word | Documents, letters, reports and CVs |
| Excel | Spreadsheets, budgets, formulas and charts |
| PowerPoint | Presentations and slide decks |
| Outlook | Email, calendar and contacts |
| OneNote | Notes, notebooks and to-do lists |
| Publisher | Flyers, newsletters and print layouts |
What's the difference between Office 2019 Standard and Professional Plus?
The only app difference is Access: Professional Plus includes it and Standard doesn't. If you never build or open Access databases, Standard already gives you every other app. Both Office 2019 editions include Publisher.
| Office 2019 Standard | Office 2019 Professional Plus | |
|---|---|---|
| Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote | Included | Included |
| Publisher | Included | Included |
| Access | Not included | Included |
| Runs on | Windows PC | Windows PC |
| Payment | One-time purchase | One-time purchase |
A question we often get is whether Standard can open Access files. It can't: .accdb databases need Access, which only Professional Plus includes.
Should you choose Office 2019 Standard or Microsoft 365?
Choose Office 2019 if you want to pay once and keep the same apps on one PC. Microsoft 365 is a subscription: it adds new features regularly, OneDrive storage and installs on several devices, but you pay every month or year. With an older release like Office 2019, also check the support dates below before you buy.
This key is for one PC. If you need the same edition on several computers, the 2, 3 and 5-key packs give you one separate key per PC.
Is Office 2019 still supported by Microsoft?
No. Office 2019 reached end of support on 14 October 2025. Since then, Microsoft no longer releases security updates or bug fixes for it. The apps keep working, but if you need a supported version, choose Office 2024, which is supported until 9 October 2029.
Office 2019 still suits buyers who need to match an existing setup, for example an office where every PC runs the same version. For a new installation, Office 2024 gives you the longest remaining support period.
What are the system requirements for Office 2019 Standard?
You need a Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC with a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM (2 GB for 32-bit Office) and about 4 GB of free disk space. Office 2019 Standard doesn't run on macOS.
| Component | Minimum requirement |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 11 or Windows 10 (and supported Windows Server versions) |
| Processor | 1.6 GHz or faster, 2 cores |
| Memory (RAM) | 4 GB (2 GB for 32-bit Office) |
| Storage | 4 GB of free disk space |
| Display | 1280 × 768 resolution |
| Internet | Needed for installation and activation |

How do I install and activate Office 2019 Standard?
Download and install Office using the link in your order email, then enter your 25-character product key when an Office app asks for it. Before you start, uninstall any older Office version or Microsoft 365 trial.
- Uninstall any previous Office or Microsoft 365 versions from Settings → Apps.
- Download Office 2019 Standard using the link in your order email.
- Run the installer and wait for all the apps to finish installing.
- Open Word or Excel. When asked, enter the product key from your email.
- Check activation under File → Account. It should show "Product Activated".
The most common activation problem we see is a leftover Office or Microsoft 365 installation, often a trial that came preinstalled on a new PC. Remove it, restart the PC and then install Office 2019 Standard.
Frequently asked questions
Is Office 2019 Standard a one-time purchase?
Yes. It's a one-time purchase with no subscription, and the apps keep working. However, Office 2019 reached end of support on 14 October 2025, so it no longer receives security updates from Microsoft. Choose it mainly when you need to match an existing setup.
Does Office 2019 Standard include Access?
No. Access is only included in Office 2019 Professional Plus. Standard gives you Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and Publisher. If you need to create or open Access databases (.accdb files), choose Professional Plus instead.
Can I install it on a Mac?
No. Office 2019 Standard is for Windows only. Mac users need a dedicated Mac edition of Office, which uses a different product key. The Mac editions include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, but not Access or Publisher.
Can I move Office to a new PC later?
This key is for one PC. If you replace your computer, contact our support team with your order number first. Whether a transfer is possible depends on the licence type, so ask before you uninstall Office from the old PC.
