What's included in the Windows 10 Pro and Office 2019 Professional Plus bundle?
You get two licences, each with its own 25-character product key. The Windows key activates the operating system and the Office key activates the Office apps. The keys are independent, so activating one doesn't affect the other.
| Product | What it covers | Where you enter the key |
|---|---|---|
| Windows 10 Pro | The operating system for 1 PC | Settings → Update & Security → Activation |
| Office 2019 Professional Plus | Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher and Access | In Word or Excel when prompted, or under File → Account |
Office 2019 Professional Plus includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Publisher and Access. Teams isn't part of the suite; it's a separate free download.
Should I choose a Home or a Pro bundle?
Choose Home for everyday browsing, email and documents, and Pro if you need business tools such as BitLocker, Remote Desktop or Access databases. The table compares the two bundle types for Windows 10 and Office 2019.
| Feature | Home + Office Standard | Pro + Office Professional Plus |
|---|---|---|
| BitLocker drive encryption | No | Yes |
| Remote Desktop host (connect to this PC) | No | Yes |
| Hyper-V virtual machines | No | Yes |
| Join a company domain or Microsoft Entra ID | No | Yes |
| Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote | Yes | Yes |
| Access | No | Yes |
| Publisher | Yes | Yes |
This bundle is the Pro option. Pro runs everything Home does, so the extra tools are simply there when you need them; we often see it chosen for laptops because of BitLocker.
Are Windows 10 and Office 2019 still supported?
No. Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 Home and Pro and for Office 2019 on 14 October 2025. Both keep working, but Office 2019 no longer receives security updates, and Windows 10 only does on PCs enrolled in Microsoft's separate Extended Security Updates (ESU) programme.
That matters most on a PC that's online every day. For a new setup, a Windows 11 + Office 2024 bundle stays supported much longer; this bundle still suits offline machines or software that needs these exact versions. See Microsoft's list of products that reached end of support in 2025.
What are the system requirements for this bundle?
Windows 10 itself needs little, but Office 2019 Professional Plus asks for more memory and disk space, so plan around the Office figures. Microsoft lists both Windows 10 and Windows 11 as supported systems for Office 2019.
| Component | Windows 10 Pro | Office 2019 Professional Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | 1 GHz or faster | 1.6 GHz or faster, 2 cores |
| Memory (RAM) | 1 GB (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit) | 4 GB (2 GB for 32-bit) |
| Storage | 32 GB | 4 GB free |
| Display | 800 × 600 | 1280 × 768 |
| Other | DirectX 9 graphics with WDDM 1.0 driver | Internet access for installation and activation |
In what order should I install and activate the two keys?
Activate Windows first, then install Office. That way, if you decide on a clean Windows install, you won't have to install Office twice.
- If needed, install Windows 10 from Microsoft's official media, then open Settings → Update & Security → Activation.
- Select Change product key, enter the Windows key from your order email and wait until it says "Windows is activated".
- If the PC runs Home, let it restart: Windows upgrades to Pro in place and keeps your files and apps.
- Remove any older Office version or Microsoft 365 trial under Settings → Apps.
- Download Office 2019 Professional Plus with the link in your order email and run the installer.
- Open Word or Excel, enter the Office key when asked, then check that File → Account shows "Product Activated".
The most common mix-up we see is entering the Office key in the Windows activation screen, or the other way round. Each key works only in its own product, so check which is which in your order email before you start.
Frequently asked questions
Will Windows 10 and Office 2019 stop working?
No. Both keep running and opening your files after end of support; they simply stop receiving Microsoft's regular security updates. That makes them a reasonable fit for offline or single-purpose PCs, but for everyday online use a Windows 11 bundle is the safer choice.
Can I upgrade this PC to Windows 11 later?
If the PC meets the Windows 11 requirements, including TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, you can upgrade with Microsoft's free upgrade tools, and the existing activation generally carries over to the same edition. Office 2019 is supported on Windows 11 too, so it can stay installed.
I already have Windows 10 Home. Can I upgrade with this Pro key?
Yes. Enter the Pro key under Change product key in the Activation settings, and Windows upgrades to Pro in place. Your files, apps and settings stay as they are, so afterwards you only need to install and activate Office.
Can I use the Windows key and the Office key on different PCs?
Yes. They are two separate licences, so you can activate Windows on one PC and Office on another. Each key still activates only one PC, and Office needs a supported version of Windows on whichever computer you install it on.
