What can you do with Outlook 2019?

Outlook brings email, calendar, contacts and tasks together in one desktop app. You can manage several accounts at once, sort mail with rules and folders, and search across everything you've received.

The calendar handles meeting invitations, reminders and shared calendars on Exchange or Microsoft 365. Mail is also stored on your PC, so you can read and draft messages while offline.

New in Outlook 2019: events with different start and end time zones, an Accessibility Checker with one-click fixes, and helpful sounds for common actions.

Should I buy Outlook on its own or a full Office suite?

Buy Outlook 2019 on its own if Outlook is the only Office app you need. If you also need several other Office apps, an Office 2019 suite usually makes more sense than separate keys.

A standalone app is the full desktop version, not a cut-down one. Outlook 2019 on its own has the same features as Outlook inside an Office 2019 suite.

What are the system requirements for Outlook 2019?

Outlook 2019 needs a Windows 11 PC with a 1.1 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and 4 GB of free disk space. Microsoft lists the same minimums for the whole Office 2019 family, including standalone apps. This key is for the Windows version; a Mac needs a Mac edition.

Microsoft's current requirements list Windows 11, as Windows 10 reached end of support on 14 October 2025. Full details are on Microsoft's Office system requirements page.

Is Outlook 2019 still supported?

No. Microsoft ended support for Outlook 2019 on 14 October 2025, together with the rest of Office 2019. The app still installs, activates and works, but it no longer receives security updates.

It can still make sense for offline PCs or to match an existing setup. For a supported version, we suggest Outlook 2024, which Microsoft supports until 9 October 2029.

How do I install and activate Outlook 2019?

Download Outlook with the link in your order email, install it, then enter your 25-character product key when Outlook asks for it. Remove other Outlook versions first, because leftover installs are the most common reason setup or activation fails.

  1. Uninstall any other version of Outlook, or an Office suite that includes it, from Settings → Apps.
  2. Download Outlook 2019 using the link in your order email.
  3. Run the installer and wait until it finishes.
  4. Open Outlook and enter the product key from your email when asked.
  5. Check File → Account: it should show “Product Activated”.

A common problem we see is a clash with Office that's already on the PC. Microsoft doesn't support two Click-to-Run installations that contain the same app, so Outlook 2019 can't sit next to Microsoft 365 or another Office version that already includes Outlook. An older MSI-based install such as Office 2016 can also block setup, so remove it first.

Frequently asked questions

Which email accounts work with Outlook 2019?

Outlook works with Microsoft 365 and Exchange mailboxes, Outlook.com, and most other providers through IMAP or POP, including Gmail. You add each account from the File tab. Calendars and contacts sync fully with Exchange and Outlook.com accounts.

Can I still use Outlook 2019 now that support has ended?

Yes. The app installs, activates and works as before. Since 14 October 2025, though, Microsoft no longer releases security updates for it, so it's best for offline or low-risk use. For a supported version, choose Outlook 2024, which gets updates until 9 October 2029.

Can I move Outlook to a new PC later?

This key is for one PC. If you replace your computer, contact our support team with your order number before you uninstall from the old PC. Whether a transfer is possible depends on the licence type, so it's best to ask first.

Do I need Office installed to use Outlook 2019?

No. Outlook 2019 is a complete standalone app and installs on its own, without any other Office app. If the PC already has a different Office version that includes Outlook, remove it first, as explained in the installation section above.
